GUEST BLOG: What Keeps Me Up at Night as an NGO Leader
GFC On the Road has launched a new feature: sharing the voices of our grantee partners and extending grassroots knowledge globally through guest blogging. The following post is from Daisy Mutimba, director of the Nehemiah AIDS Relief Project
In a suburb of Zimbabwe’s second-largest city, Bulawayo, the Nehemiah AIDS Relief Project has joined the fight against the HIV/AIDS epidemic by facilitating the church and community response to HIV/AIDS. Nehemiah provides a variety of support services, including peer education, educational assistance, home-based care, and support groups for people living with AIDS. Having seen the problems facing the children of commercial sex workers, Nehemiah started a support group for sex workers to equip them with parenting and nutrition skills.
