My Visit with the Amahoro Association

GFC On the Road has launched a new feature: extending grassroots knowledge globally through guest blogging. The following post is from Jennifer Vollmann, director of partners and networks at New Global Citizens.

Kigali, Rwanda – This summer, as the director of partnerships for New Global Citizens (NGC), I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Amahoro Association, a GFC grantee partner in Kigali, Rwanda.

NGC (www.newglobalcitizens.org) educates, equips, and mobilizes young people to help solve the greatest challenges faced by communities around the world. Part of the NGC program is to connect students with grassroots organizations around the world that are working to change their community. NGC partners with The Global Fund for Children so that NGC students can choose to support GFC grantee partners by raising funds, educating their community, and advocating on behalf of selected GFC grantee partners. This summer, while I was traveling through East Africa, I had the chance to visit some of GFC’s partners that NGC students support, including the Amahoro Association. Read more
